People & Performance Manager

Flexible Part-Time Opportunity | Multi-Site Healthcare Group

$45–$60 per Hour | School-Friendly Hours | Brisbane

Recruiters talk about "great opportunities" all the time.

This one genuinely is.

Attention To Dental has been engaged to recruit a People & Performance Manager for a highly respected healthcare group operating across six established locations throughout South East Queensland.

This is not a traditional HR role.

Nor is it a position suited to someone who prefers sitting behind a desk managing policies and paperwork.

This role is for a genuine people leader.

Someone who understands that the success of any business comes down to the quality, engagement and performance of its people.

If you enjoy coaching teams, navigating difficult conversations, developing workplace culture and making a measurable difference to staff engagement and retention, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

About The Organisation

Established more than 40 years ago, this specialist healthcare group has built an exceptional reputation within its field and continues to experience ongoing growth. Operating across six locations and employing approximately 45 team members, the business is known for its professional standards, supportive leadership team and commitment to creating a positive workplace culture.

The leadership team genuinely values its people and recognises that investing in staff is one of the most important contributors to long-term success.

As the organisation continues to grow, they are seeking a dedicated People & Performance Manager to take ownership of the human resources and people management functions across the group.

Why Would Someone Leave Their Current Role For This One?

Because opportunities that combine flexibility, autonomy, leadership responsibility and work-life balance are incredibly rare.

This position has been specifically designed to suit an experienced people leader who wants to make a meaningful impact without sacrificing family commitments or lifestyle.

Core working hours are approximately 9:30am to 2:00pm Monday to Friday, providing the flexibility many experienced professionals seek but rarely find.

There is also a small on-call component each morning to assist with managing sick leave and rostering adjustments when required. This can generally be completed remotely from home and is designed to ensure operational continuity across the group's locations.

For experienced professionals with school-aged children or those seeking greater balance in their career, this role offers an exceptional blend of responsibility and flexibility.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Practice Business Manager, you will become the primary point of contact for all people-related matters across the organisation.

You will oversee performance management, employee relations, recruitment, probation reviews, conflict resolution, staff development, rostering support and workplace culture initiatives.

This is a highly visible leadership role where your ability to build trust, communicate effectively and support team members through challenges will directly influence the success of the organisation.

You will work closely with leadership while also becoming a trusted advisor to staff across all locations.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced People Manager with a proven background in direct staff leadership.

This role is not suited to someone whose experience is limited to HR administration or compliance-based functions.

The ideal candidate will have experience conducting performance reviews, managing workplace conflict, supporting managers, navigating difficult conversations and driving positive workplace culture outcomes.

You will be a confident communicator who can remain calm under pressure, make balanced decisions and approach challenges with professionalism, empathy and fairness.

Experience within the dental or healthcare industry would be beneficial but is certainly not essential. The client is open to candidates from a variety of industries who bring strong people leadership experience and a genuine passion for supporting teams.

What You'll Receive

In return, you'll join a stable and growing organisation that genuinely values its people.

You'll be supported by experienced leaders who are committed to your success and will provide a structured handover and onboarding process to ensure you are set up for success from day one.

The remuneration package ranges from $45–$60 per hour depending on experience, with flexibility to negotiate a salary arrangement for highly experienced candidates.

Professional development is encouraged and supported, and there is significant opportunity to further develop your leadership skills within the organisation over time.
